I would say that the travel is likely the hardest part doing trade shows and possibly traveling to factories. Manufacturing is very reigonal, I would not be able to do the leatherwork in the islands because the leather industry is mostly the northern states. I would love to be physically based in the islands but for now I will have to live in New York and keep my heart in Hawaii! HL: You’ve done handbags and body jewelry — what’s next? I am working to continue to expand my fine jewelry collection as well as possibly relaunch handbags ( not sure yet but thinking about it) I am working to really master these two crafts and I feel like I still have so far to go! Lau will be part of a fashion panel from 2 to 4 p.m. this Saturday, May 28 at the Waikiki EDITION Lobby Bar.

I wanted to create a necklace that looks like it would have been worn during that time period with a filigree wrapped pendant, stones, Czech glass and a very generous opera length chain. Supplies: 42mm clover petal brass filigree 26mm polymer clay bead 2 8mm faceted Czech glass rondelle 14 5mm Czech glass drops 2 12mm faceted lepidolite square beads 2 10mm faceted orange aventurine barrel beads 2 6mm fired agate beads 14 7.25mm brass jump rings 2 5mm brass jump rings 1 15mm jump ring 6 2″ brass eye pins 20 1/2″ brass cable chain Directions: 1. Place the polymer clay bead in the center of the filigree and fold the four corners around the bead. 2. Attach the large jump ring through the openings of the filigree. 3. Create looped links with each of the beads, string one on an eyepin and create a loop. Except the drop beads, add 7 drops beads to the eyepins and then make the loop.

With spring in the air and color returning to those of us emerging from the mantel of snow, this painting really was a wake-up call to the senses! Iwas pleasantly surprised to wake up to my daily email from Beading Daily and find it was about Steampunk in beading! Upon further scrolling, I found that I got a mention and a picture of the piece I designed for Beadwork for the article I wrote in 2008. And then, upon closer inspection, I found a link to a the segment I filmed for Beads, Baubles, & Jewels ! My friends at Interweave put it upon their You Tube station , so everyone can see it now! I still cringe a little, seeing and listening to me speak on TV, but I think I did a pretty good job for my first time. I made the pendant above from an Earthenwood Triple Gear stone and a Vintaj brass bead, which was flattened to make a pronged setting for the stone. Expanding my Craft Inventory
Roller, rulers, pasta machines! Sounds fun! Brayers, polymer clay guns and molds…wow! Texture makers, gold leaf and pearl powders….goodness! I have to admit the look and sound of all the wonderful array of polymer clay tools is adding to the excitement of working with clay. At this point, the only thing standing in my way is a couple more work days and a room that is already packed full of beading/crafting supplies. Am I going to have room for new stuff? Yikes! The thought hadn’t crossed my mind until this moment. The good thing is, it looks like most of these supplies are fairly small and shouldn’t take up much space. I just need to make a little… Back to the tools and accessories….if you can part with any more of your polymer expertise, PLEASE let me know your thoughts on what I need to get started. I am guessing rollers and rulers, but not sure what else. How about rubber stamps? Do you use those in clay designs? (Thanks for your help!)

However, another idea I found quite clever is reusing egg cartons as a nifty bulletin board for the office or study area. You can also use the egg cartons to sort beads for crafts and many more. Alphabet Letter D Craft is for Delicious Donuts
Alphabet Letter D is for Donut. This donut is so delicious, we just had to take a couple bites out of it! Kids are going to have a blast with this Alphabet Craft activity. Just don��t forget to add the sprinkles! Craft supplies you will need: Orange, yellow, pink and brown Construction paper Scissors Glue Alphabet Letter D Template Sprinkles or small beads Craft instructions: Print out the Alphabet Letter D template. The largest Letter D goes with orange construction paper and the next size goes with yellow construction paper. The smallest Letter D is for the frosting. The frosting goes with white or brown construction paper. Have the children trace and cut out all the Letter D��s. Next, have the children place the orange donut shape on the bottom, then have the children glue the yellow donut shape on top. After that, have the children glue on the frosting, making sure to line it up correctly. (The bite marks should match.)
